Demandware Introduces New Mobile Commerce Application in Winter ’10 Release
Barneys New York first client to launch new mobile storefront using Demandware

The application will be available to all Demandware clients free of charge as part of the Winter ’10 release of the Demandware® eCommerce Platform, scheduled for Q4 2009. Demandware Winter ’10 will also include 39 other new features and enhancements across merchandising, search and cross-channel integration.
Full-Featured Mobile Commerce Storefront
Demandware’s mobile commerce application includes a full-featured, customizable mobile storefront with all of the functionality retailers need to create a compelling shopping experience on a mobile device, including search, navigation, product catalog, pricing, checkout, content management, security and inventory. With full integration into the Demandware eCommerce Platform, retailers will be able to deploy, customize and manage the day-to-day operations of the mobile channel with minimal effort. Demandware provides a single, unified environment for managing both the ecommerce website and the mobile storefront simultaneously. The mobile commerce application is designed to work with all major mobile browsers, including Safari, Android, Opera and Internet Explorer, and with popular Smartphone devices, such as the iPhone and Blackberry.

Demandware Winter ’10 Release
The mobile commerce application will be made generally available to all Demandware clients through the Winter ’10 seasonal release of the Demandware eCommerce Platform. Demandware Winter ’10 also contains 39 other new ecommerce features and enhancements, including:
- Active Merchandising™ – enhanced slotting to include any content or catalog article, as well as dynamic content. Also added is the ability to export Active Merchandising™ data into other analytics systems.
- Search – 16 new search features and enhancements.
- Promotions and Coupons – new promotion types for fixed price product promotions and the ability to export coupon code redemptions.
- Pricing – support for pricing based on variation including sale price based on color variation, and the ability to transfer a price or sale price to all variations.
