What are the Commerce Cloud Pacesetter Awards?

The Commerce Cloud Pacesetter Awards recognize excellence in retail and celebrate Salesforce Commerce Cloud clients who stand out among their peers as the most progressive or successful, and who serve as an inspiration to both their industry and their customers.

Finalists - Finalists will be announced publicly on our website and blog, in a press release, and across social media. During 2017 Salesforce XChange Americas conference in May, we will highlight all category finalists and their achievements on stage (using approved content).

Winners - Winners are announced publicly on our website and blog, in a press release, and across social media. During the 2017 Salesforce XChange Americas, each winner will receive an award and share their success story via a dedicated presentation on the main stage. We will also include winners in the Commerce Cloud Pacesetter Awards video (using approved content). All winners are automatically eligible for the Community Choice Award (details below).

Commerce Cloud Pacesetter Award Categories

Fast Track Award

This award recognizes clients who have leveraged the agility of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud, formerly Demandware, to achieve lightning-fast time-to-market. They have successfully launched one or more ecommerce sites and/or other major initiatives with both speed and efficiency. The project must be completed in the 2016 calendar year.

2016 Winner:


UNIQLO launched online stores for delivery into 17 countries in only four months. They successfully integrated ecommerce sites with existing IT infrastructures, and they implemented click & collect in all UNIQLO stores in France and Germany. They completed on time prior to peak season, with early results exceeding targets and expectations.

Sustained Growth Award

This award recognizes clients who achieved above-average growth in their industry by leveraging Salesforce Commerce Cloud, formerly Demandware, for a period of at least 2 years. Winners must demonstrate how Commerce Cloud has empowered them to achieve and exceed their business goals, including international and multi-brand expansion, excellence in merchandising, mobile commerce, and creative use of marketing and/or social media.

2016 Winner:


Carter’s experienced annual double-digit ecommerce growth since launching on Commerce Cloud in 2010. They established shared shopping cart across brands, driving conversion rate and average order value. Since launching their mobile site in 2013, their mobile conversion doubled, and now accounts for half of their traffic. On Black Friday 2015, they processed over 10,000 orders in a single hour.

Innovation Award

This award recognizes clients who have developed engaging shopping experiences that inspire and delight their customers. Strategies may include, but are not limited to, RFID tagging, magic mirrors, social media buy buttons, predictive intelligence, apps, mobile commerce innovation, and creative merchandising.

2016 Winner:

Cole Haan

Cole Haan embraces innovation in many areas. They monetized mobile traffic by implementing Apple Pay, they launched a “Shop the Look” capability on Instagram, and they pioneered Buyable Pins on Pinterest as one of the first early adopters. In addition, they are recognized by L2 as a mobile leader in the fashion vertical.

Community Choice Award

The Community Choice Award does not have a nomination process. Winners in the 3 aforementioned categories are automatically entered. Once they present their winning project(s) on the 2017 Salesforce XChange Americas main stage, conference participants (our family/community) will vote to determine the Community Choice Award winner.

2014 Pacesetter Award Winner

Michael Hill

A New Zealand-based jeweler that operates physical stores in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada, Michael Hill launched four ecommerce sites with Commerce Cloud, experiencing an 85% increase in site visits and an astounding 220% increase in conversion rates just three months after launching. Two key innovations contributed to these amazing results and a better consumer experience: a build-your-own charm bracelet online and shoppable videos.

2014 Pacesetter Award Finalist

Scotch & Soda

In just four months, this Dutch fashion and lifestyle brand launched 13 localized web sites on Commerce Cloud in six languages and six currencies. They additionally launched responsive web design for all sites. Scotch & Soda experienced 97% average growth since launching on Commerce Cloud and has seen 30% of orders come from mobile devices.

2014 Pacesetter Award Finalist


A world leader in innovative casual footwear for men, women and children, Crocs enhanced its mobile capabilities on the Commerce Cloud platform in 2013 after seeing a major traffic shift from highly converted desktop traffic to smartphones. This initiative, which has been rolled out in seven regions, increased smartphone conversions by 50%. Crocs also achieved payback on their initial investment in less than six months. Additionally, used Commerce Cloud to implement their “Lucky Bag” promotion in celebration of the Japanese New Year.

The Fast Track Award


GoPro launched their ecommerce sites across North America, Europe and Asia on Commerce Cloud, supporting nine languages and 13 currencies in just 21 weeks. In addition, the audience at XChange Las Vegas selected GoPro as the Community Choice award winner.

The Sustained Growth Award

The adidas Group

Since signing with Commerce Cloud in 2011, the adidas Group, a sporting goods leader, has taken online shopping to new heights. Over four years, the company launched 40 ecommerce sites and an additional 22 branded non-ecommerce sites on Commerce Cloud. The continued expansion, combined with ongoing enhancements to the brand experience, has allowed the adidas Group to grow ecommerce revenues by 110 percent year over year.

The Innovation Award


OVS SpA, Italy’s leading value fashion retailer, has made Commerce Cloud the core of its omni-channel strategy since 2013, when it integrated online and offline channels to enable a multi-touch customer experience. The results: an 81% increase in site traffic and 44% increase in conversion, and 40% of its click & collect customers end up buying additional items upon pickup.
