The New Year at Demandware got off to a big start in more ways than one. Not only did we announce the game-changing acquisition of Tomax, but we were also named as a Leader in the new report The Forrester Wave™: B2C Commerce Suites, Q1 2015. Read more about this news here.
We’re excited not just to be in the Leader section of the Wave, but also to be the single cloud-only commerce platform vendor to be named a leader. We take this as recognition that while more and more retailers are realizing the positive impact a cloud platform can have on their ability to be agile, innovative and to grow, getting the cloud right – and delivering what we’d call a true cloud model – takes experience and a trustworthy provider.
In addition to accolades for Demandware, the Forrester report featured many interesting nuggets that ought to make retailers and consumer brands sit up and take notice. Here are a few:
- Replatforming continues, as companies consider new options and new vendors
- Branded manufacturers continue to focus on direct-to-consumer selling
- For success in retail, “agility is key” – especially as consumer expectations are continuously changing and rising
- Differentiation between vendors is increasingly around business user enablement, not underlying functions
